The hippocampus is a mythical creature with the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a fish, often associated with the sea in ancient Greek and Roman mythology. It was believed to be a symbol of both power and grace, representing the duality of land and water, and often served as a companion or steed for sea gods and goddesses like Poseidon and Aphrodite. The hippocampus also symbolizes balance, adaptability, and the seamless connection between the conscious and subconscious, reflecting a harmony between different realms of life.
